The National Black Church Initiative's
National Black Marriage Retreat Facility

The National Black Church Initiative intends to purchase a 2.3 acre retreat specifically to house a dedicated sanctuary for the purpose of celebrating, sustaining, and saving Black Marriages, located in Cheverly, MD.

The current owners have an asking price of $500,000 for the land and a house on the property.

In the spirit of building strong faith-based families, we are humbly asking in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior for 5,000 of God's holiest churches who understand this vision to give a sacrificial offer of a one-time gift of only $1,700. This will allow NBCI to purchase the retreat, refurbish it to accommodate participants, and help reach out to couples in need of spiritual maritial healing.

If we attain our goal of committing 5,000 churches in the next 30 days, the church will finally be doing its real job of strengthening the black family and creating disciples for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Our vision for the National Black Marriage Retreat Facility will focus on three critical areas:

DEVELOP

• Practical strategies to save Black marriages.
• Pioneer a training institute to produce Black marriage counselors.
• Emergency strategies that will respond to crisis situations for Black families.
• Chruch-based institutes to train spritual and biblical counselors focusing on repairing marriages, dealing with abuse, and teaching me and women the virtues of a marriage grounded in faith.
• Spearhead national and regional conferences focused on challenges facing modern day Black marriages.

NURTURE

• Allow new and older couples to come together and learn how to live in a Godly marriage with emphasis on becoming a loving partner grounded in Christ's teachings.
• Accomodate groups as well as individual couples who will focus on strengthening or repairing their marriage
• Place special emphasis on strategies to teach couples how to create and sustain an abuse-free biblical marriage
• Focus on problems centered on the "generational curse" that includes negative behavior patterns and destructive social family traditions that are outside of the Christian church

TEACH

• Train Black academic and clinical professionals to create and disseminate written, social media, and video material on how to create and sustain succssful Black marriages.
• Create a two year marriage outreach program for young Black couples who are engaged with the focus of teaching them the biblical understanding of marriage, the biblical way to raise children, and the ability to love each other without any physical or verbal abuse.
• Build a cutting edge research facility to study the issues around Black marriages and come up with practical and applied solutions.
