As the NAACP executive director for 15 years until 1992, this longtime civil rights leader and pastor believes in a personal touch when it comes to outreach. COMMENTS:

How do you measure the success of your organization?
We measure success by our ability to spread God's Word. Preaching the Word to the people is our measuring tool. I do the best I can with what I have.

What role do faith-based organizations play in society today?
Our role is to learn to treat others well and to work to help people receive salvation.

What advice would you give others on how they can cultivate their vision and make a difference?
Try as best you can. Be grateful for what God has done for you and always remember the Golden Rule.
